Apartment and Villa Rental in Calasparra
Leave the first response September 7, 2009 / Posted in RentalsIf you’re looking to visit Calasparra and want to rent an apartment or a villa in the area then there’s a couple of new websites that can help you. Calasparra Rentals in Spain is run by Sue Smith and Sue Wallis. We know them well as they look after our apartment when we’re in The UK. They can help you book a place to stay as well as make sure you’re looked after whilst in Calasparra.
You can see photos of the area and importantly the apartments, plus latest booking tariffs, on their website. Both Sue and Sue know the area and can help you with questions and enquiries about staying in the area. We’ve enjoyed a few evenings with them at La Polvora and when our flat has been used by guests they’ve done an excellent job looking after them and the apartment.
Cecilia and Arthur also rent out an apartment on Tierra de Sol. Their website can be found at Calasparra Holidays. You’ll find a gallery, prices, availability and information about the area. You can find out what their guests say about them too.
If you’re thinking of buying an apartment or villa in Calasparra or the surrounding area then there’s some information on Calasparra Life that will help you.
Path Back to Tierra de Sol in Calasparra
Leave the first response September 5, 2009 / Posted in PhotosI can’t believe that the last post on Calasparra.co.uk was back in February! Where has the time gone? Anyway this is a reminder to myself to make a bit more of an effort in adding content to the blog. There’s a whole load of photos from the Sanctuario and surrounding areas to add, plus on there’s even a bit of video too.
Some people have been emailing in questions about Calasparra to the blog. Apologies if you’ve not had a reply!
The above photo was taken in June 2009 and shows a lovely new path that’s been put in alongside the road near Tierra de Sol (before that there were large tubes occupying the pathway that presumably are now underneath). It looks a lot better now I’m sure you’ll agree!
It’s Not Always Sunny in Calasparra!
Leave the first response February 6, 2009 / Posted in PhotosAs Calasparra is inland and surrounded by mountains it does occasionally have overcast days, rain and the kind of weather you’d expect in The UK. This photo was taken whilst driving between Calasparra and Caravaca de la Cruz.
The clouds were very dramatic and appeared much lower than the mountains.
The temperature in Calasparra varies from an average of 8 C in January up to 27 C in July (it can be a lot hotter). Rainfall tends to at it’s highest in April and May according to Kyero.com.
Las Lomas de La Virgen at Calasparra
1 Comment February 2, 2009 / Posted in PhotosLas Lomas de La Virgen (The Hills of the Virgin) is a viewpoint on the way to La Santuario and gives superb views of the rice fields and valley below. It’s a good 20/30 minute walk from Tierra de Sol, depending on the temperature, but do make sure you have water. The path is clearly defined (having been improved in recent years) but can be steep in places. There are places to sit and rest along too.
From Las Lomas de La Virgen you’ll enjoy a (sometimes windy) view of the mountains, rice fields and river. We always take a walk up to the viewing point and it’s rare to find many people there, so you can enjoy the views in peace.
La Polvora - Places to Eat in Calasparra
3 Comments January 29, 2009 / Posted in PhotosLa Polvora is one of the best places to eat if you’re in Calasparra. It’s within walking distance of Tierra de Sol and is a mainly traditional spanish bar. The hosts are incredibly friendly and the food is excellent. It’s lively and well worth visiting.
At lunch time there’s usually a set menu for around 9 Euros and this includes salad, starter, main course, desert and a drink.
There’s also a range of Tapas - the tortilla is really good!
